MIYABI KIDS
I offer Japanese lessons for children in 3 age groups:
- 4-5 years old
- 6-8 years old
- 9-12 years old
There are two main stages at Miyabi (Kids Japanese Language School)
Hiyoko Class - for children, who are just starting their journey with the Japanese language and,
Samurai Class, for children, who already know how to write and read elementary Japanese.
HIYOKO CLASS
Hiyoko student:
- Works on introducing her/himself 
- Works on hiragana 
- Works on colors 
- Works on numbers 
- Works on learning 100 words in Japanese 
- Works on basic classroom expressions 
- Works on hiragana words 
- Works on songs in Japanese 
SAMURAI CLASS
Children advancing to Samurai class already know hiragana and around 100 words.
The class structure will be divided to writing practice and learning new topic with songs/puzzles and story times in between. Every class is different and every child is different and therefore the time spent on each section may vary.

There are 3 grades in Samurai Class
- Sakura Gumi (kids basic) 
- Ayame Gumi (kids Intermediate) 
- Yuri Gumi (kids upper intermediate) 
All exams consist of writing, reading, speaking and singing.
After each stage, a student will receive a passing certificate and a little souvenir.
The next stage begins with a small entrance ceremony.
SAMURAI CLASS, SAKURA GUMI
Sakura student:
- Knows how to introduce her/himself 
- Knows hiragana well 
- Knows colors 
- Knows numbers 
- Knows around 100 words in Japanese 
- Knows basic classroom expressions 
- Knows at least 2 songs in Japanese 
- Reads hiragana words 
- Works on katakana diligently 
- Works on learning first kanji diligently (20 kanji) 
- Works on writing from memory 
- Works on expanding vocabulary 
- Works on reading hiragana dialogue 
- Works on asking simple questions in Japanese 
- Works on guiding in Japanese 
- Works on the days of the week, months and dates 
- Works on asking and giving directions in Japanese 
- Works on money and simple shopping in Japanese 
- Works on songs in Japanese 
SAMURAI CLASS, AYAME GUMI
Ayame student:
- Knows katakana 
- Knows first kanji well (20 kanji) 
- Reads hiragana dialogues 
- Knows how to ask simple questions in Japanese 
- Knows the days of the week, months and dates 
- Knows how to ask and give directions in Japanese 
- Knows money and can do simple shopping in Japanese 
- Knows at least 4 songs in Japanese 
- Works on first kanji diligently (40 kanji) 
- Works on expanding vocabulary 
- Works on reading Japanese text (mixed hiragana, katakana and 40 kanji) 
- Works on talking about family 
- Works on talking about weather 
- Works on talking about seasons 
- Works on shopping in Japanese 
- Works on songs in Japanese 
SAMURAI CLASS, TSUBAKI GUMI
Tsubaki student:
- Knows first kanji well (40 kanji) 
- Knows how to read Japanese text 
(mixed hiragana, katakana and 40 kanji)
- Knows how to talk about family 
- Knows how to talk about weather 
- Knows how to talk about seasons 
- Knows at least 6 songs in Japanese 
- Works on expanding vocabulary 
- Works on reading Japanese text (mixed hiragana, katakana and 80 kanji) 
- Works on talking about home 
- Works on talking about hobbies 
- Works on talking about pets and animals 
- Works on naming different shapes 
- Works on talking about traveling 
- Works on talking about plans 
- Works on songs in Japanese on talking about past activities 
- Works on songs in Japanese
